Who On Earth is John Chow

February 9th, 2007 · by David Bradley >> 2 Comments

If you don’t know who John Chow is by now, then you’re obviously not reading a decent number of blogs. John Chow is a blogger, and a self-proclaimed dot com mogul, whatever that means. He’s also wont to “Miscellaneous Ramblings”, so a man after my own heart to be honest.

Chow has spent the last few months miscellaneously rambling about blogging, advertising on blogs and websites, communicating via Google AdSense ads, oh, and eating out. When you visit his site and sign up for his RSS newsfeed, which I recommend you do pronto if you want to keep up, you’ll notice a pair of flashy blue sports cars at the top of his site. I don’t think their his, yet, but I’m sure he’s working on it. More to the point, this kind of website crest, shouldn’t leave you crestfallen, it should simply present inspiration, which is essentially Chow’s stock in trade.

I’ve followed lots of his tips and tricks over the last few months since first subscribing to his newsfeed (which I read using Forumzilla in Mozilla Thunderbird, by the way) and some of those tips have come up trumps in terms of boosting various of my websites. Not least through undertaking this honest review of his site, per the instructions on his recent review my site post

I’m not so keen out the “eating out” posts from Chow, but the Google AdVice is spot on, as is much of the technical advice he procures. I noticed that his site (like my Sciencebase site) is hovering around the 2000 RSS subscribers mark, which is gratifying to know. I guess that makes our sites comparable in one sense. He’s also in the Top 1000 blogs according to Technorati, Sciencebase hovered at the 850 mark for a while back then, but has slipped a little since.

Anyway, this post refers to a significant figure and offers a tip & trick, so to find out what he’s all about check out Chow.
