US TV in RoW with VPN

Hotspot Shield, which I’ve mentioned here several times in the past is a virtual private network that spoofs your internet connection so that your computer appears to be accessing sites from a US address. This means that you could use it to access US-only content from the like of Veoh, Hulu, ABC, CWTV, Pandora even if you’re not in United States. Unfortunately, Veoh has now blocked Hotspotshield, according to Raymond.cc. The others are likely to follow suit.
Thankfully Raymond.cc also reports that a Hotspotshield alternative – AlwaysVPN – has now become available, which is not yet on the info provider radar.
This doesn’t detract from the other benefits of using Hotspot, but AlwaysVPN does seem to make it redundant now that the providers are fighting back.
