Want to know how to use Proxify.com to gain access to banned websites. This simple video (too simple for some, I’d say) shows you how.
Proxify.com is paid for by ads, but you can sign up to get an ad-free version and other features. Or, if you’re using Firefox you can simply add NoScript and AdBlockPlus to skip the advertisers and protect yourself from errant sites. Of course, with proxify.com you cannot login to any sites like Orkut, Facebook, MySpace etc. An ongoing detailed discussion on accessing banned sites is underway elsewhere on Sig Figs. I recently discovered Hotspot Shield which proxifies your browsing and hides you from firewalls, wi-fi interference and other issues as well as allowing you to access banned sites easily.

I am in UAE (United Arab Emirates),In this country mostly sites are banned,for example ORKUT ……I got a one proxy HiddenLlama-com, by this i can access ORKUT,but its not working when i reply some in shape of scrap on orkut.i cant change ma profile cant download any video cant see any video on ORKUT while using hiddenllama.So kindly resolve my problem……

India, if none of the proxies work, then I’m afraid you’re probably stuck with doing your schoolwork instead of hashing around on MySpace, sorry.

Rajesh, on the basis of the other comment you posted, I suspect you have a virus that is locking you out of the systems you’re trying to access.

Hi ..When i download the hotspot , am not able to access orkut on in my pc but wen i tried doing the same procedure in other pc it works …how come ?
@Savita - sounds like it could be a firewall issue. You have to allow the hotspot virtual private network it creates to pass through your firewall unhindered.

Another alternative to Proxify is nolocks.net.
Apparently, it allows you to browse anonymously and/or bypass network restrictions.
NoLocks fetches the pages you want to see and sends them back to you without you having to connect via your company, school, or home system.
Often sites block not just an ip adress but also the mac address.I have not found any free solutions on the net,however I have got back into sites I was banned from. I have tried on a trial basis(usually 3 free days)by using software that spoofs both The ip and mac.(two seperate programmes.
Interesting point Patrick, but I know that war-drivers are able to spoof MAC addresses, so that shouldn’t be a permanent problem for an enterprising individual

This is philosophical more than helpful I think.
The net is Full of Facist Governments,Bully Moderators and all sorts of various lower forms of life.Is it worth the effort to outsmart them really ?. One solution might be to completly Boycott sites who ban for no good reason.

I could set up a social networking site, but if it became popular and had content that the less enlightened regimes of the world or employers/principals didn’t like it would be banned on principle and you would all be in the same position as you were yesterday, looking for proxies and filter switches.

one social network I know will not even allow Me to see homepage,True I pissed of the owner by posting the company ip adress on his site,only when He had become So smug&smartassed about banning people by i.p adress,s.Can You tell Me does He need the co-peration of search engine providors to stop Me being even able to see front page before any attempt to log in ?
