Twitter co-founder Evan Williams explains the incredible growth of the twitter site on the basis of unexpected uses.

Twitter has won a small army of lifecasting converts, including yours truly (find me as sciencebase on the site) with its bite-sized notes and instant-gratification communication. Co-founder Evan Williams reveals some startling things he’s learned from users, and the way they’ve driven his business forward. Real-time event reporting has become an indispensable part of Twitter, for instance. He admits that he doesn’t know what will happen next with Twitter but has learned to follow the hunch never to assume where it will go.
