SQT: Ignore Your Spam Folders

This week’s Saturday Quick Tip is one for anyone who gets a shipload of spam.
Install antispam filtering on your blog (Akismet, say) or forward all email to GMail for spam filtering. Train the filters by flagging false positives or false negatives. Finally, forget about the spam folders. Don’t check them. Just ignore them. If someone is desperate to get in touch they will try again using different means.

This is exactly what I’m doing. After a while, you completely forget about spam.

I think it’s worth keeping a weather eye on things, just in case some goes seriously awry, but yes, you do get a sense of liberation once you’re no longer spending hours mopping up the cr*pflood.
