SQT: Great Firewall of China
March 22nd, 2008 · by David Bradley
Despite assertions in the Western media, people in China can still get all the news about Tibet and other sensitive issues they like. However, don’t waste time searching on Youtube for video clips or in Google News. A search for Tibet in Google will lock you out for 1 minute. However, a Chinese friend of mine points out that few people in China actually use Google for news anyway, because it is filtered. Instead, simply visit Yahoo where news is free.

It is not truth at all that we can get news about sensitive issues related to China.
Too much to talk about that. I have a practical question. Can you give me advice how to access banned websites in China? There are couple of them I want to visit, but I would appreciate it if you, tell me a way to get Wikipedia, and dw-world.de (Deutsche Welle).
I use a router; have Internet Explorer 7, Firefox and Opera installed, and ADSL connection at home. I can release my email to get more detailed information.

Ian, maybe I was misinformed, but Yahoo certainly isn’t locking down like Google.
Anyone able to help Ian on accessing those sites? I suspect not.
