SQT: Be Nice to your Mother
May 24th, 2008 by David Bradley >> No Comments
Should you get a frustrated phonecall from your Mom, unable to install an application to allow her to connect to the Internet, don’t assume she’s just being dumb and tell her so. It could be that you set her XP login as a Limited user on her computer to protect her from rogue dialers and other malware, and it might just be that an hour later she figures this out for herself. She does a login this time as Admin and gets on with the job of installing the application without your help.
It’s not worth being cut out of anyone’s will just for the perceived kudos of thinking you know better when it comes to computers, now is it?
(Happy Victoria Day to Canadian readers everywhere, by the way!)
