Secret Feedburner Count
March 21st, 2008 · by David Bradley
There is an easy way to reveal a Feedburner count even if the blog in question doesn’t display an FB feedcount button. Just use a URL of the following format - http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/BlogFeedburnerName. The following URL will show you how many subscribers Sig Figs has today (Feedcount varies a lot on a daily basis, so you might see a high or you might see a low.
e.g. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/Significant-Figures
But, if you don’t want anyone to see your feedcount at all, what do you do? Simply open your Feedburner dashboard, choose your feed you want to hide, click the Publicize tab, FeedCount in the left-hand menu, and make sure this service is Inactive. You still get to see your stats in the Dashboard, but visitors to your blog cannot use my secret Feedburner count hack to reveal your hidden numbers.

Yeah, you showed me how to get at the feed count externally, which I sometimes do so that I don’t have to go through the FeedBuner website — which is very slow most of the time.
Nice, neat trick, to be employed shortly…
