Search and Record Internet Radio

MP3videoraptor lets you search and record music and video across the internet legally. There is a demo of the software that you can download, but I’ve got a clutch of FREE license keys to give away, courtesy of the publisher. They’re not worth their weight in gold in saved iTunes purchases, they’re better!
You can win a license for mp3videoraptor (worth about $25) simply by subscribing to Sciencetext email updates here with Feedburner. Once you’ve signed up and activated your subscription, send me an email on david.bradley-AT-sciencetext.com letting me know. If you’re one of the first 25 12 new subscribers I’ll send you a license key for MP3videoraptor.
Anyway here’s some more info. File sharing copyright content without permission of the copyright holder is illegal in most countries. There are literally hundreds of P2P systems, such as Limewire and the Bit Torrent networks, and hundreds of alternatives to the now defunct Napster. There are certainly legitimate reasons for using these systems, but getting copyright material for free ain’t one of them.
People hoping to get copyright music and video downloads, the latest Madonna album (why would you?), A Quantum of Solace screener (again, why would you?) or perhaps an obscure item from the back catalog of The Enid or Pavlov’s Dog (of course you would) will spend many a happy hour on file sharing, P2P, systems, exposing themselves to action from the US’s RIAA and its counterparts in other countries.
There is, however, an alternative…internet radio! Of course, there are systems such as last.fm and Pandora that let you hint at what kind of music you would like to listen to, but that’s not quite the same as being able to listen to a specific track on demand.
MP3videoraptor, however, seems to solve that problem and looks to be entirely legal. After all, the internet radio stations, like FM radio, pay royalties and MP3videoraptor works like the modern equivalent of a tape machine to record songs from the radio for personal use.
The software lets you search internet radio stations for millions of mp3s and music videos on the web and then saves them to your hard drive. You can then play them direct on your PC or upload them to your media player for portability. MP3videoraptor is not a P2P-file sharing system, it simply lets you tap into the social music platforms on the internet.
The software records music and video from countless websites, including, last.fm, YouTube, and SoundClick. It also has a builtin ringtone maker for your cell phone, an mp3 ID3 tag editor, and CD burning software embedded.
I’m not fully conversant with US copyright law, or indeed the copyright law in any other country, but it looks legal. There are no issues with DRM as far as I can tell. So, if you don’t look too good in a tricorn hat and don’t fancy raising the skull-and-cross bones, then I suspect this product will help you sail close to the wind without being scuppered by the RIAA.
