<description>News just in. USB 3.0 is set for launch early in 2008 and will operate using fiber optic alongside the copper wire connections. Speeds will be up by ten times, giving a theoretical maximum speed of 4.8 Gigabits per second. Plenty fast enough to run almost any application of a USB drive, an external hard drive, or other USB device. It should make transfers from PVRs with the new USB connection that much more efficient too.
