Pop-up Ad

A pop-up ad on another site alerted me to the “fact” that I’d won a shopping spree worth “£1201. Amazing, I thought. It’s a scam of course, but does the advertiser really think that extra dollar is going to attract more clicks? Is there something I’m missing? I cannot even see what value in dollars they would have been converting from to get 1201…
