ISO 9995-8 telephone keypad diagram.Launched today, Trackle It turns the idea of web 2.0 systems, such as Notify Me, on its head and focuses on how the producers can offer instant notifications to their users, rather than the usual end point of such systems. It sounds almost old school, like web 1.0, a push technology, but it hinges on the advent of almost ubiquitous mobile access to the net.

Mashable, which recently featured yours truly as one of just 13 twitter users everyone should follow reported the Trackle It announcement earlier today.

Trackle It will give website owners the ability to offer viewers custom content subscription options. The add-on is designed to let visitors subscribe to all types of new content via email or SMS, and then share it through their social network of choice.

The system should work for many website owners regardless of whether they’re discussing long blue widgets, selling short pink ones with yellow spots, or creating a community around fat green gizmos instead.

Here are just a few things Trackle It’s creators think you could track:

Be surprised how popular you (or your friends) are, Is the weekend likely to be rained or snowed out? Find out when a fare drops below your target price, Find out if your home value is going up or down
