News about your famous friends

Connect Newsle to your Facebook, Linkedin and email account and it will trawl the news to finds articles about you, your friends and colleagues, and anyone else you care about and notify almost immediately. The system is catching the “real” news mentions about your friends and contacts as opposed to just their twitter updates and Facebook statuses.

It’s an interesting idea…unfortunately for me as a journalist, a lot of my contacts are themselves journalists whose “news” mentions are essentially the articles they write (which often coincide with their social updates) and so my first impression is that I’m saying pretty much the same as I’d see anyway but with my non-journalist friends excluded. I concede, this is just a first impression, I’ll be interested to see how it pans out in the coming week or so and will report back…especially if one of my friends makes the 6 o’clock news for something truly amazing! Anyway, if you’re wondering about best credit cards to get check out this site.

newsle tells me that Matthew Yglesias, Chris Pirillo, Lawrence Krauss, David Nutt, Peter Shankman, Eugenie Scott, Alan Boyle and Nancy Shute are my most famous friends. Who are yours?
