SQT: Mount a Virtual CD

Saturday Quick Tip logoIf you’ve got an ISO image of a CD, you may be wondering what to do with it. Obvious choice is to burn it to a CD, but what if you have a whole collection of “backup” ISOs and want to keep your original disks pristine? Well, you could opt for the powerful Daemon Tools or Alcohol, which both allow you to mount ISO files as virtual CDs on your machine, or you could choose the free unsupported Microsoft Windows XP Virtual CD control panel.

It’s not quite as powerful as other applications, but it is free and if it does the job for your particular ISO, then why not?

If you’ve got a bin/cue or other file format, then you could give Virtual Clone Drive
