Mass Social Media

I was using RSS feeds to pull my blog headlines into twitter and to automatically add stuff to my FriendFeed and Facebook pages. However, a while back I also got an invite for ping.fm, which allows you to post to almost all your social media sites simultaneously.
I now take a more hybrid approach, which I think adds a bit more of the human touch than simply scraping one’s own content and spitting it out as tweets, plurks, and pownces. I think my followers and friends on the various services agree as responses and follower counts have been steadily rising ever since. Give it a try, ping.fm covers all social media bases.

I don’t use plurk or pownce so have never really needed ping.fm. Does it also work with identi.ca? I can’t remember. I used to feed my posts into Twitter but now do it manually. It does make you more human and you can sometimes get a discussion going.

Kim, ping.fm certainly works with identi.ca, I’ve got a post just for you scheduled for later this week about ping.fm
You’re right about being more human. I do use twitterfeed for twitter but I probably tweet manually more often, but it at least lets you not forget to shout out when you’re regular stuff posts and you’d have simply tweeted the link anyway…
