Look Good Naked

July 19th, 2008 · by David Bradley

Naked womanIt is almost lifelong quest for many people: how to feel happy with the way you look naked…

That thought can apply to your blog or website too, lots of your visitors have NoScript running in Firefox, which automatically blocks lots of your widgets and add-ons, potentially showing up the metaphorical cellulite, and those wrinkles of experience beneath your blog’s outer garments. Some users even have Greasemonkey running with scripts that can tear off your stylesheet and remove the last vestiges of decency.

So, here’s the Saturday Quick Tip for this week, complete with gratuitous nude (per a suggestion by Jonathan Morrow on Copyblogger):

Install NoScript, Adblock Plus, and Greasemonkey yourself, and take that long hard look in the mirror with all your website apparel and accessories stripped away.

Do you like what you say?

If the answer is no, then it’s time put your site on a strict diet and shed a few plugins.

Better?

If you hesitated, then perhaps you should give your code a little nip and tuck, perhaps applying a minimalist blog theme, so that even without your elaborate CSS to hide behind, you’re still looking good.

Of course, none of this should matter, it’s your brains your readers really want you for, of course. It’s not whether you look good naked it is what’s on the inside that really counts. But, hey, I know this site could scrub up better, just don’t expect me to bare all in public.
