Of course, I¡¯ve essentially given the game away on Sciencetext (the feed is called Significant-Figures), as you can now look up our subscriber numbers. Just to emphasize, irrespective of the number of subscribers, the content here is we hope informative and entertaining enough that you will want to subscribe.

For a deeper discussion on whether or not to display your feed count check out Fighting to Stay Awake.

    Interesting.
I did start displaying with 1 :-) Now up to 106. Content definitely matters¡¦

    Cheers!

That¡¯s a nice jump. My main site started at 1250 (been around a while before we went to Feedburner) and has gradually increased by well over 1000 to 2248 (this morning) in three months. I display the stats on that site, moreover, I¡¯ve Web2.0ified the counter and feed icon to make it more attractive

The Feedburner subscriber count has, for me at least, been a very variable figure. On this site, the number fluctuates almost daily by ten percent up and down. On Sciencebase.com I see the subscribers rise and fall by several hundred over the course of the week. But this last seven days, it seems to have stabilized at around 2760 fluctuating by only one or two over the course of the last three days.

Over on JohnTP.com there is a debate underway about faking feedcount, this post will surely persuade you not to do that. Much more ethical is to display a different figure, such as an average daily visitor count and perhaps make that link to your feed, if visitors put two and two together and make five, so be it!
