I must confess, I’m not so enamored of follow-up type 1 where my comment becomes just one voice hoping for attention in a great crowd, I’m always pleased to hear a direct response from the blogger as in type 2, but I puzzle endlessly over type 3 blogs where no response to a reasoned comment is forthcoming. There are several reasons why a blogger may not respond to one’s comments, but none of them are good enough reasons to ignore outright the people that read and feed your blog. The first reason a blogger might not respond, is that they get enough traffic and/or make enough money from their site without having to concern themselves with individual comments. There’s simply no excuse to ignore your commenters, the only time I’d say it is justified is if the comment is spam, but even that requires a blogger’s attention to blacklist the spammer.     Comments in many cases are “the post”. Kommentare in vielen Fällen sind "The Post". More information and idea’s stem from the discussion and in some cases make the post all that better. Weitere Informationen und die Idee aus der Diskussion und in einigen Fällen die Post, dass alle besser. So one should try and keep the discussion rolling and follow up with responses. Also sollte man versuchen zu halten und die Diskussion Walz-und Follow-up mit Antworten. Good manners would at least have the author acknowledge someone took the time to drop by(plus it helps build readers and a sense of community).     I try to respond to people who comment on my blog because they may have checked-off the “notify me of follow-up comments” button.     As a new blogger I am not up on all the latest blog etiquette and this particular issue has been on my mind.     To be honest, there seems little point in someone leaving a comment if they don’t want to see the follow ups, unless they’re commenting simply for themselves rather than the community surrounding the blog.     I think that the type of blog can also have an impact on comments and whether or not they are left.     I like comments. Ich mag Kommentare. I love exchanging ideas and engaging in meaningful discussions. Ich liebe den Austausch von Ideen und Engagement in sinnvolle Diskussionen.     It’s more of a problem with my sciencebase site, which has been around a lot longer than this one is syndicated and linked far more widely via legitimate channels.
