If you’re reading this page, then you probably probably clicked my headline in your Wordpress Dashboard. If you came via that route then you will see that you got a free text link ad below.

The purpose of this post was to catch your attention and, of course, give you some link lurv, but also to coin a new phrase - Dashboard Spam.

I noticed a headline on my own WP Dashboard that said something along the lines of “If you are reading this then you will want to improve your blog”. It was a bit more malicious than my post in the sense that, when I checked, I discovered the author had removed any link to my site. So, he obviously created the page with the link, pinged Technorati, and then quickly removed the link, presumably adding links to other sites and repeating the process. Now, that’s quite clever, but it’s definitely what I’d call Dashboard Spam.

Now, I got your attention with a link bait title that showed up in your Dashboard, but you are getting something in return - a free text link ad on my site. Of course, it’s on a WP sub-Page as opposed to the homepage, if you want a full-blown ad on the homepage sidebar (Google PR5, Alexa 145,000, Compete 166,000, almost 3000 Yahoo backlinks, 1000 in Google at the time of writing), then please get in touch to discuss options.
