How to Boost Your Feed Readers سبل زيادة حجم خلاصتك القراء

Recently, I left a comment on a fellow blogger’s وفي الآونة الأخيرة ، تركت على تعليق للزميل المدون site الموقع suggesting he add a small link to a “ مما يشير الى انه اضافة الى وصلة صغيرة " What is RSS ما هو آر إس إس ?” post close to his feed subscription button. ؟ "بعد قريبة من بلدة تغذية زر الاشتراك. My rationale was based on my experience with Sciencebase subscriber numbers and some insider knowledge on web surfing habits and how these might translate into subscriptions. بلدي هو الاساس المنطقي على اساس خبرتي مع sciencebase المشترك والارقام وبعض المطلعين على الاسرار وتصفح الانترنت والمعرفه والعادات وكيف يمكن ان تترجم الى واقع هذه الاشتراكات.
Adding that link added at least 30-40% new RSS subscribers at Sciencebase, bringing the count up from around 1500-1600 to well over 2500 and some days showing 2700-ish. واضاف ان وصله واضاف 30-40 ٪ على الاقل من المساهمين في آر أس أس الجديدة sciencebase ، وبذلك يصل تعداد من جميع انحاء 1500-1600 الى اكثر من 2500 وتظهر في بعض الايام 2700 - ish.
Is posting a “What is RSS?” post patronising? هو نشر "ما هو ار اس اس ان" ما بعد patronising؟ Well, for the relatively small number of visitors to any site who are tech savvy, feed aware, or generally already in the know, they may be mildly offended. حسنا ، لعدد صغير نسبيا من الزوار الى اي موقع من هي تقنيه الشطاره والاعلاف وعلم ، او عموما في معرفة بالفعل ، وانها قد تكون أقل ما يقال للاساءة. How could you, the blogger, think that they, the reader, may have overlooked something that most bloggers consider a fundamental feature of their sites? وكيف يمكن لكم ، المدون ، تعتقد انها ، القارئ ، قد يكون لها شيء اغفال النظر الى ان معظم المدونين سمة اساسية من سمات مواقعهم؟ Well, market research shows that anywhere between 90 and 95% of the population still do not know what a blog is. وايضا ، السوق في اي مكان وتظهر البحوث ان ما بين 90 و 95 ٪ من السكان ما زلنا لا نعرف ما هو بلوق. Even while they are reading a blog many visitors will not see a distinction between a blog with a latent newsfeed and an ordinary site with no RSS. وحتى اثناء وجودهم في القراءة بلوق العديد من زوار لن ترى التمييز بين بلوق مع كامنا Newsfeed الموقع عادي ودون اي آر إس إس. Many certainly will not know that clicking one of those trendy (orange) feed icons will take them into a whole new realm in which they can read a website without even having to visit it. فمن المؤكد ان كثيرين منهم لا يعرفون ان النقر على واحدة من تلك عصري (اورانج) اطعام الايقونات وسيأخذها الى عالم بأسره الجديدة التي يمكن ان تقرأ حتى موقع على شبكة الانترنت دون ان تضطر لزيارة.
I still get blank stares from friends and relatives when I mention blogs, rss, rdf, newsfeeds, and such, and even one or two web designer colleagues are yet to embrace the technology. وما زلت احصل على بياض التحديق من الاصدقاء والاقارب وانني اذكر عندما بلوق ، آر إس إس ، قوات الدفاع الروانديه ، newsfeeds ، وهذه ، بل وحتى واحد او اثنين على الشبكه العالمية مصمم الزملاء حتى الآن على احتضان التكنولوجيا. Adding that “What is RSS?” post might just make all the difference between their never finding out and actually subscribing to your feed with Bloglines, Google Reader, or Firefox Active Bookmarks. واضاف ان "ما هو ار اس اس" وظيفة فقط قد جعل كل الفرق بين ابدا معرفة الحقيقة والاشتراك في خلاصتك مع المدونات ، صور القارئ ، أو فايرفوكس النشطه الاشارات المرجعيه.
Most people still hit sites almost randomly while searching for their keywords in a search engine. معظم الناس لا تزال تصل الى ما يقرب من المواقع بشكل عشوائي في حين ان على البحث عن الكلمات الرئيسية في محرك بحث. So, make it easy for them to stick around. ذلك ، تجعل من السهل بالنسبة لهم أن يلتزم بها في جميع انحاء. Add a “What is RSS?” post and bring them into the fold. اضافة "ما هو ار اس اس" وظيفة وتقديمهم الى حظيره الوطن. You never know you might even find some of your friends and family subscribing to your newsfeed. لا احد يعرف حتى أنك قد تجد بعض اصدقائك وعائلتك Newsfeed المنضمه الى حسابك.
As an afterthought, it occurred to me that you do not even need to create the actual What is RSS? بوصفها فيما بعد ، أنها وقعت لي انه حتى انك لا تحتاج الى تهيئة الفعليه ما هو ار اس اس؟ page if you are using Feedburner. الصفحه اذا كنت تستخدم feedburner. Just add the text to make it look like a link below your feed icon but have it point just the same as the icon to the feed itself and let Feedburner do the explaining for you. اضيف النص لجعل الأمور تبدو وكأن الوصله ادناه خلاصتك ايقونه ولكنها مجرد وجهه وهو نفس الرمز لإطعام نفسها واسمحوا feedburner موضحا ان تفعل لك. If a visitor using Firefox clicks the link they may get Firefox’s explanation instead, but either way it’s an explanation nonetheless. اذا كان الزائر من النقرات باستخدام فايرفوكس الصلة فايرفوكس انها ستحصل على تفسير وبدلا من ذلك ، ولكن هذا الاتجاه او ذاك انه شرح ذلك.

I think adding a “What is RSS?” link is a great idea. واعتقد ان اضافة "ما هو ار اس اس" هو ربط فكرة عظيمة. My blog isn’t technology related so this has a great deal of potential for growing RSS subscribers. ليست بلادي بلوق التكنولوجيا ذات الصلة حتى ذلك قدرا كبيرا من احتمال تزايد المشتركين في آر إس إس.

Yep, I always had a page on Sciencebase explaining what RSS is, but never really put the icon and the explanation together in a coherent way. That leads straight to the feed, but hopefully the majority of users are going to see something sensible either courtesy of their browser or Feedburner…numbers are up by about 15% since yesterday but that might just be a blip, I’ll give it a week to have a real impact and if it doesn’t I’ll point the phrase to a proper expo page. الامر الذي يؤدي مباشرة الى تغذية ، ولكن نأمل ان غالبية المستخدمين سوف نرى شيئا معقولا اما مجامله للمتصفح او feedburner… حتى الارقام بنحو 15 ٪ منذ يوم امس ولكن ذلك قد يكون مجرد الاشارة ، انا اعطاءها في الاسبوع ليكون لها تأثير حقيقي واذا كان لا انا الى وجهه عبارة سليم اكسبو الصفحه.

As an additional thought for boosting one’s feed readers, never forget the email option. كما يعتقد اضافي لزيادة واحد للتغذية القراء ، لن ننسى أبدا خيار البريد الالكتروني. You may only vaguely remember mailing lists…those newsletters that arrived plumb in your inbox on a regular basis before the days of blogs, rss, rdf, atom, wikis, wakis, waikikis etc. يمكنك فقط الغامض وتذكر… تلك القوائم البريديه والرسائل الاخباريه التي وصلت الى الشاقول في صندوق البريد الوارد على اساس منتظم قبل ايام من بلوق ، آر إس إس ، قوات الدفاع الروانديه ، الذرة ، الويكي ، wakis ، waikikis الخ.
It is always worth providing the option. انه دائما توفير قيمة الخيار. There are still a good number of people who might have an invaluable contribution to make who would instantly sign up for an email “feed” but might still be reluctant to added your rss to their aggregator. لا يزال هناك عدد لا بأس به من الناس من قد يكون لها ان تقدم مساهمه لا تقدر بثمن من شأنه ان اشترك فورا عبر البريد الالكتروني "تغذية" ، ولكنها قد تكون لا تزال تتردد في اضافة ار اس اس الخاصة بك الى المجمع.
And, of course, there are those people who haven’t yet been turned on to rss at all…let alone wakiwikis. ، وبطبيعة الحال ، هناك من الناس من لم تكن قد حولت الى ار اس اس على جميع… ناهيك عن wakiwikis. (Which is where the “What is RSS?” tag comes into its own). (الذي هو فيه "ما هو ار اس اس" العلامه الخاصة بها حيز).

I think it’sa valid point because you can never assume too much about the tech’ savviness of the people traipsing around your website. واعتقد it'sa نقطة صحيحة لانك لا يمكن ابدا ان تحمل الكثير عن تقنيه 'Savviness من الناس التمشي حول موقع الويب الخاص بك.
I certainly wouldn’t be offended by seeing such a thing. انني بالتأكيد لن يكون للاساءة من قبل رؤية شيء من هذا القبيل.
I might even try it myself… واسمحوا لي ان يحاول حتى ان نفسي…

I think the better alternative is the email option because people who don’t understand RSS are probably less likely to even use an aggregator like Google Reader or My Yahoo. واعتقد ان البديل الافضل هو خيار البريد الالكتروني لان الناس لا يفهمون من آر إس إس هي على الارجح اقل عرضة للمجمع حتى استخدام مثل غوغل وياهو بلدي أو القارئ.

Hsien, I think you’re right, but the big disadvantage of the mailing list option is that it is the kind of missive that will easily get caught up in spam filters. Hsien ، واعتقد انت على حق ، ولكن العيب الكبير القائمة البريديه خيار هنا هو أن هذا النوع من خطاب بسهولة وسوف ننشغل في المتطفل المرشحات. But, point taken! ولكن ، اتخذت وجهة!

Email is good as an option, but not as a default. البريد الالكتروني باعتباره خيارا جيدا ، ولكنها ليست افتراضيه.
Thinking things through, it means that the process gets broken, or at least interrupted. من خلال التفكير في الاشياء ، فان ذلك يعني ان عملية كسر يحصل ، او على الاقل توقف.
Which means there’sa better than average chance the recipient just won’t follow the CTA (Call To Action) up. مما يعني ان هناك فرصة افضل من المتوسط المتلقي فقط لن تتبع CTA) دعوة الى العمل).
Not the ideal scenario… الوضع ليس مثاليا سيناريو…

There’s no perfect way. لا توجد طريقة مثاليه. Most of my friends and family visit sites directly. معظم اصدقائي والمواقع مباشرة لزيارة الأسرة. My husband, who’s generally pretty up on things, asked me just last week what RSS meant! زوجي ، بوجه عام من جميلة حتى على الامور ، وطلب مني في الاسبوع الماضي فقط ما يعني ار اس اس!

OK, here’s the fix: David, I think you ought to start a petition for an RSS Day, build some education and inform people of the benefits. حسنا ، ها هي تصحيحات : ديفيد ، واعتقد انكم يجب ان تبدأ التماس لآر إس إس اليوم ، وبناء بعض والتعليم واطلاع الناس على الفوائد.
RSS is a rising star these days, what with Yahoo! آر إس إس هي ارتفاع نجمة هذه الايام ، مع ما ياهو! Pipes doing funky stuff with feeds, so there’s still room for growth. أنابيب تفعل الاشياء مع الفيد غير تقليدي ، ولذلك لا يزال هناك مجال للنمو.
But the thing is, if you’re using an up-to-date browser, you don’t even need to know what RSS means. لكن الشيء هو ، اذا كنت تستخدم احدث متصفح ، حتى انك لا تحتاج الى معرفة وسائل آر إس إس.
With the likes of Firefox, feeds from websites and ‘blogs are discovered automatically… مع يحب من فايرفوكس ، اعلاف من المواقع ، و'بلوق تكتشف تلقائيا…
