To webmasters the world over any insight into innards of Google is very welcome as it will allow the wily to improve their website through SEO (search engine optimization) and hopefully gain a better rank in the search engine results pages (SERPs) for their particular keywords. So, Google, ever helpful, has released a series of video tutorials, the first of which explains how the search engine discovers your site in the first place:

I think even Google has no idea how their search engine works. They favors blogs, websites using adsensce above others.
