E-Mili smartphone battery boost

E-Mili smartphone battery boost – You may have heard about how the new "subconscious mode" for smartphones and other WiFi-enabled mobile devices could extend battery life by as much as 54 percent for users on the busiest networks. E-Mili (pronounced like the girl's name Emily, I assume) would work by "under-clocking" the Wi-Fi chip in the device so that it used lmuch less power when not actually carrying out communications tasks. I asked inventor Xinyu Zhang of the University of Michigan when it might be available: "E-MiLi needs modifications to the firmware of WiFi cards, and needs certain hardware support for downclocking. So it will not be immediately available on commercial-of-the-shelf devices. We are current applying patent with E-MiLi." That's a shame, I was hoping for a SourceForge app I could install on my laptop to give a boost, without my having to switch the wireless on and off periodically to save battery while working away from a power outlet.
