download youtube logoWant a quick and easy way to save Youtube videos to your hard drive? Then if you’re running Greasemonkey in the Firefox browser you can get it here by installing the Youtube Download script.

This Greasemonkey scripts adds a somple download button to every video on YouTube. It has international language support, auto-updates and supports various formats including the standard Youtube Flv as well as high-quality Flv and Mp4 (mpeg4).

    Why would someone download a YouTube video to a computer?

    Depends on what the Youtube video is, but I can think of several reasons, all boiling down to the fact that you might want to watch it offline. A science teacher, for instance, may want to show several clips of different experiments being carried out, but not have broadband access in their classroom. My son would love to have a bunch of movie clips and music videos to watch on his PSP when we’re traveling by car. You might want to compile several dozen to watch in sequence on a TV that isn’t net connected…
