Now You Can Get Windows Vista On XP

Download Windows Vista Transformation Pack and make your Windows XP machine look like and even behave a little like Micro$oft’s latest OS (operating system) offering – Windows Vista.
From the Windows X blurb: Vista Transformation Pack will give your Windows XP system the look and feel of Vista. But, without all the trouble of actually buying Vista, removing XP, installing Vista, discovering half of your hardware and software is not compatible, and your favorites data are all gone (why didn’t you back up?), and then being forced to reformat your hard drive and start all over again with XP.
The pack swaps most of the system icons, skins and toolbars for Vista lookalike enhancements, such as the dock bar and system tray clock. The pack includes Thoosje’s Vista Sidebar, which does virtually the same job as Vista Sidebar but is free. Thanks to Amit Agarwal at Digital Inspiration for drawing our attention to that feature. Apparently it has some of the functionality of widgets in Mac OS 10 or Google Desktop Search deskbar or Yahoo’s Konfabulator. Of course, Mac afficionados will simply say, why bother, just get a Mac?
I’d already updated one of my XP machines to the Zune theme, but a downloadable Windows Vista makeover looks like a far more attractive proposition.

is there a vista patch for xP???

Of course, not. You have to pay Bill big bucks to get the upgrade disks instead. What we’ve got on this post is a way to make XP look a bit like Vista, but it doesn’t do the full job and it’s not really Vista at all, just a bit of fun.

An additional tweak you might like to try while awaiting the launch of “Windows 7″ is to change your Windows XP bootscreen to almost any image you like. Full tip here with some great graphics – Windows Pirate Bay, Windows Linux, Windows Super Mario edition all for free download. You’ll need the BootSkin app mentioned to make the most of these.
