Dooblet Alternative Search

dooblet-logoDooblet is not like other search engines, instead of finding stuff related to your search term, it finds alternatives. So, whereas if you’re searching for blue widgets on Google, you’ll probably get pages with red and green widgets as well as blue, Dooblet will find an alternative, pink dongles, say.

Try it with some regular keywords, like science. What’s the alternative to science? According to Dooblet, that would be: religion, god, technology, art, bible, witchcraft, engineering, pseudoscience, christianity, philosophy, evolution, faith, computer engineering, art, bachelor of arts, magic, and fiction.

Try the inverse test, i.e. search for religion and Dooblet tells you:

The best replacement for religion is science.

An alternative to alternative medicine? conventional medicine, traditional medicine, conventional, traditional, modern medicine, holistic, mainstream medicine, allopathic, western medicine.

You could wile away many a happy our looking for alternatives with Dooblet. Here are a few more keywords to try: sex (love is the best alternative), Coke (Pepsi), tea (coffee), work (stay at home), blogging (journalism), Twitter (Facebook), and finally the best alternative to Google is…Yahoo. I’m surprised they didn’t fudge that one so that Dooblet itself was the best alternative to Google…
