Here’s a bonus Twitter tip to add to my Do You Follow Twitter tips post. If you use qwitter or socialtoo to keep track of your new follows and those who unfollow you, then here’s something you can do to mess with the heads of unfollowers persuade them to follow your tweets again.

When you receive notification of a qwitter, visit their twitter page, follow them, and then check out their most recent tweets to find one or two of interest. Tweet a reply to each. But, here’s the key, make what you say counts, say something so uniquely fascinating that the qwitter will be so intrigued that they cannot help but refollow you, then keep up the good stuff, but remember don’t lose site of your individuality in all of this.

CAVEAT: Don’t bother if they were twammers (twit spammers)

CAVEAT 2: Sharp-eyed readers like @subatomic will have spotted the inherent contradiction in the previous tips in which I suggested you unfollow qwitters and this bonus tip. Well, all I can say is, it’s a blogger’s prerogative to change his mind.

That’s clever and funny. Personally, I can’t be bothered. I signed up for Qwitter because I wanted to test the service but I’d rather not know if someone stops following me. And I really don’t want to convince them to come back.

Twitter seems like a really good idea, but it confuses me. I’m not really sure where to start.

I agree with Kim, for the most part I don’t really care to be notified if someone stops following me. However, if out of nowhere every stopped following. I would be all over that tool, lol.

Gini, think of it as a mini-blog. Send updates to it throughout the day and get used to using it. Sooner or later you’re come up with a theme and people will pick up on that.

As always, have fun with it!
