Blogging immortality and the ageing process
July 13th, 2010 by David Bradley >> 3 Comments
I once wrote about how to achieve blogging immortality and how many of us were stuck in a time-warp thanks to our avatars, gravatars and miscellaneous photos we use as identicons on social media sites and our blogs.
Well, today I picked up my first pair of prescription reading glasses (which I only marginally need to be honest but are making my head swim as I type this) and thought it was probably time to give everyone a laugh. So my Dorian Gray image that adorns my Twitter page, my Facebook page, my gravatar and blog ident are all migrating to the new look me.
In essence, the blog elixir has worn off and I suddenly got old and grumpy. Well, I was always grumpy…but I will try and smile for the next photo change in another few years.

My good friend Andrew Sun suggested that my new photo looks like something from a movie poster…I can only assume he means Night of the Living Dead.

David…glasses suit you. You’d probably LOOK less grumpy if you smiled. I’m zooming in on 50 years old quite quickly at present and have taken the attitude that while age will get me eventually I am not going in gracefully. I have increased my workout regimen swimming a mile last week for the first time ever, 2 sprint triathlons in a month, 5km race in 25 mins and looking at a 75 mile bike ride sometime in the next month. It’s all good bro’. Unfortunately these events take more of a toll than they used to, recovery takes longer and watching 16 year olds leave me in the dust makes me smile/grimace. But there’s a potion and some pills in my spam box that they say will help…

Yeah, smiling while trying to look enigmatic perched on your office chair with a camera in one hand…next time. As to aches and pains, I’ve always had loads of those so when you talk of post-sport recovery, I simply don’t know what you mean
Keep at it!
