		<description>Fair point. When WPAU works, I guess it&#039;s the best solution for beginners, but if manual or auto go wrong, then it&#039;ll be heartache all round for any n00bs upgrading without someone to assist.</description>

I think we all have different ways of doing things.  My way certainly isn&#039;t for everyone - I just wanted to provide the instructions for people who want to do manual upgrades. There are those of us who prefer the control.

I don&#039;t find that it takes me very long.  Of course, it&#039;s longer than a problem free auto-upgrade but it&#039;s just a matter of backing up, deactivating plugins, and then replacing files.  I usually work on something else at the same time.
