A quick fixing for missing images

When I imported the database of all my articles published on the now-defunct PSIGate and Intute over the years to the ScienceSpot science news site, there were quite a few image links that broke in the process, not all of them just a large number. Rather than manually working through each and every post to upload the necessary graphic and fix its referrer, I sought out a simpler solution.

I found it in the form of this relatively old WordPress plugin “404 images fix”, which pretty much does what it says on the tin allowing you to fix 404 missing image errors across the whole of your site with a few clicks and to either replace missing images with a default photo or graphic or to simply hide the error from readers.
