Yeah, the thought is daunting and I’m not sure whether there are actually any significant security reasons to take the step from 2.5 to 2.6, but I did it anyway.

I’m still one of the hold-out to WP upgrades. The thought of checking my plugins and Theme compatibility with 2.6 are daunting.

WP needs to change version to 3.0 before I can commit to a major overhaul.

I had to abandon a couple of plugins in making the upgrade to 2.5, but that was no big loss really, it’s always worth periodically going minimal with bloated outdated plugins

Thanks for all this interesting information, will make it easier for us to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress.

As usual, some of the plug-ins might cause some problems until the latest release/update is made available.
